"Game of Thrones" is a medieval epic fantasy television series based on the seven-part fantasy epic "A Song of Ice and Fire" by American writer George R. R. Martin.
The story is set in a fictitious world divided into two continents: Westeros to the west and a continent similar to Eurasia to the east. Ancient extinct creatures are discovered at the border of Westeros, and danger is gradually approaching. The Stark family, rulers of Winterfell and the North, also welcomes a visit from their old friend and king, Robert Baratheon. The king hopes that Eddard Stark (played by Sean Bean) will serve as his Hand of the King to combat the rebels vying for the Iron Throne. Tensions rise, and beneath the seemingly peaceful surface of the kingdom, intrigue and conflict brew. The powerful Baratheon family, the noble and kind Stark family, the ambitious Targaryen family vying for the throne, and the secretive Lannister family with their hidden agendas.
